Person wants to establish a collective of Sindhi language enthusiasts in major cities.
Indore: Asha Chand, a social worker and a passionate advocate for the Sindhi language, has stated her intention to set up branches of Sindhi Sangat in major cities across the country. On Tuesday, she was in the city to raise awareness of the language.

"It is our main goal to ensure that the children of the Sindhi culture are educated and knowledgeable in the language, as well as to make sure that the language is used at home. We are doing this by various means," she said.

The Sindhi community was one of the most heavily impacted by the Partition of India, and Asha believes that it is now their responsibility to ensure that the language and culture are preserved for future generations. She has appealed to the Central Government to set up a channel on Doordarshan dedicated to the Sindhi language, so that its usage can spread and people can learn more about the culture and the beliefs of the community.

In addition, she is in contact with both the Education Minister of the state and MP Shankar Lalwani, to start a curriculum in schools to teach the language, either as a compulsory or optional subject, depending on the number of students interested in it. She has also reached out to private school operators to get their support.

Asha Chand's mission is an inspiring one, and she is determined to ensure that the Sindhi language and culture will continue to thrive for years to come.
