Next year's Champions Trophy may be held in Lahore as PCB suggests it as India's home base.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has put forward a proposal to make Lahore the home base for the Indian cricket team during the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. This decision was made in order to ensure the best possible security arrangements for our neighboring country.

According to a reliable source within the PCB, this suggestion was included in the initial schedule for the event that was sent to the ICC at the end of April. The source further added, "We believe that having Lahore as the home base for the Indian team will not only reduce their travel time but also provide them with top-notch security measures."

It is worth mentioning that India had declined to participate in last year's Asia Cup, which was originally scheduled to be held in Pakistan, citing security concerns. As a result, the matches were moved to Sri Lanka.

As per the tentative schedule, the major 50-over event is set to take place in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9 next year. However, the final approval from the ICC executive board is still pending. The PCB has also kept Karachi and Rawalpindi as alternative venues for the Champions Trophy matches.

This will be the first time since 1996 that Pakistan will be hosting a major ICC event. While we did host the entire Asia Cup in 2008, and a few matches of the same event last year, this will be a significant milestone for our country.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to confirm whether they will be sending their team to Pakistan for the ICC event. On the other hand, the PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has hinted at major changes in the Pakistani team following their narrow defeat against India in the T20 World Cup in New York on Sunday.

Moreover, Naqvi also stated that all three stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi will be upgraded before the Champions Trophy to ensure the best possible facilities for the players and spectators.

In addition to this, the PCB has also announced that the Pakistan Super League will take place in April next year. This decision was made keeping in mind the Champions Trophy and a tri-series that is planned to be held before the ICC event, with South Africa and New Zealand being the other participating teams.
