Indian travellers now have a new and convenient way to book their tickets for At the Top, Burj Khalifa, as the iconic attraction has become the first in the UAE to accept Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for e-commerce transactions. This exciting news was announced by NPCI International Payments Limited on Wednesday. The international arm of the National Payments Corporation of India has partnered with NEOPAY and Emaar Entertainment to launch this facility.
This means that Indian visitors can now use UPI-enabled payment apps to book tickets and experiences at the world's tallest building through the attraction's official website, even before they travel to the UAE. This latest integration is an extension of NIPL's existing partnership with NEOPAY. Since the introduction of QR code-based UPI merchant payments in the UAE in 2022, Indian travellers have been able to use UPI for payments at merchants across NEOPAY's network.
And now, with the new rollout, UPI acceptance has been extended to online bookings as well. Ritesh Shukla, Managing Director and CEO of NPCI International, shared that Indian travellers are increasingly seeking simple, familiar, and seamless payment experiences when they travel abroad. By enabling UPI acceptance for online bookings at At the Top, Burj Khalifa, the company is making it easier for them to use a payment method that they know and trust, even before they arrive in the UAE.
This initiative not only caters to the growing demand for convenient and trusted cross-border digital payments but also strengthens the digital payments bridge between India and the UAE. Vibhor Mundhada, CEO of NEOPAY, expressed his excitement over this partnership and stated that it marked a significant milestone in digital commerce between the two countries. He also mentioned that NEOPAY has become the first company in the Gulf Cooperation Council region to enable UPI acceptance for e-commerce transactions.
The spokesperson for Emaar Entertainment also shared their enthusiasm for this new development. They stated that the introduction of UPI for online bookings would make the customer journey simpler and more convenient for Indian visitors, who constitute one of the attraction's largest international visitor segments. In other news, Odisha's No.1 English Daily, Orissa POST, has recently reported this groundbreaking collaboration in their publication.
With UPI now being accepted for online bookings at At the Top, Burj Khalifa, Indian travellers can look forward to a hassle-free and seamless experience while planning their visit to this iconic attraction.
