In an effort to modernize their forest management practices, Odisha took a significant step forward on Wednesday with the launch of the Integrated Forest Monitoring and Command Centre (IFMCC). The digital platform, inaugurated by Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia, aims to enhance forest conservation, wildlife protection and natural resource management through the use of advanced technology. During the ceremony held at Aranya Bhawan, Minister Singkhuntia highlighted the benefits of this new system, stating that it would improve transparency and support timely decision-making for the conservation and sustainable management of the state's forest resources.

In addition to the launch of the IFMCC, the minister also unveiled the newly refurbished website of the Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society.

This website will serve as a valuable resource for the public, providing information on the state's forestry sector and its initiatives. The ceremony also included the unveiling of two publications: the souvenir of the 14th National Workshop of JICA-Assisted Forestry Projects in India and the Annual Report of Odisha Forestry Sector Development Project Phase II.
