Mourinho wants Chelsea's player now that Real Madrid has secured deal for Bernardo Silva.

According to recent reports, Real Madrid has set their sights on Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez as they continue to make moves during the transfer window. The Spanish club has already secured a deal for Bernardo Silva, who will join them as a free agent in July after his contract with Manchester City expires. This has caused quite a stir in the football world, with both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid also expressing interest in the Portuguese international.

However, the latest news from Marca suggests that Silva has verbally agreed to join Madrid and both parties are eager to finalize the deal before Portugal's World Cup match against DR Congo next week. Interestingly, it has been reported that Madrid's former manager Jose Mourinho, who recently returned to the club after Florentino Perez was re-elected as president, personally requested the signing of Silva. In the midst of all this, The Athletic has revealed that Madrid had initially targeted Paris Saint-Germain's midfield duo Vitinha and Joao Neves, but their efforts were in vain as the French club has no intention of selling.

As a result, Madrid has now turned their attention to alternative options, with Enzo Fernandez and West Ham's Mateus Fernandes being considered. It is worth noting that both Manchester United and PSG are also interested in Fernandes. However, Chelsea is not actively looking to sell Fernandez, whom they signed for a whopping £107 million from Benfica three years ago.

In a recent interview, Fernandez expressed uncertainty about his future at Stamford Bridge, especially after the club's disappointing Champions League exit in March. He also criticized the decision to let go of Enzo Maresca, whose relationship with the club's hierarchy had deteriorated. In response to his comments, Chelsea handed Fernandez a two-game suspension for discussing a potential move to Madrid during the international break in March.

As the transfer saga continues, it remains to be seen whether Madrid will be able to secure the signature of Enzo Fernandez or if they will have to look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements. What do you think about this potential transfer? Share your thoughts below.
