According to Director of IMD Bhubaneswar, Manorama Mohanty, thunderstorms and lightning are expected to occur in several districts of Odisha over the next five days. These storms may be accompanied by strong surface winds with speeds reaching up to 30-40kmph. Mohanty also mentioned that the rainfall activity is expected to increase from June 21 onwards.
Moreover, IMD has predicted hot and humid weather conditions in some districts for the next 48 hours. These include Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati. However, there is good news for the residents as IMD has reassured that the humid weather will subside after 48 hours.
