She says, “We have to acknowledge the influences of the messages that surround us when growing up, especially in sexual and gender socialization. Every one of us shapes our own sexual script, which is influenced by experiences, but also movies, role models, etc.”
Interestingly, the way people like sex to be initiated seems to change as we age. Those aged 18-24 and 25-34 prefer romantic gestures, while those aged 35-44 favor non-verbal cues. From 45-54 onwards, preferences switch to a slightly more direct approach, with physical touch being the most common.
