Max George lied about his cooking skills before appearing on Celebrity MasterChef but now admits he was bluffing.
Max George, singer of the band The Wanted, recently revealed that he had to fib a little in order to get on the latest season of Celebrity MasterChef. On Monday's episode of Lorraine, Max admitted that he exaggerated his cooking skills on the questionnaire.

“I think I was one of the late additions," he said. "On the questionnaire, I said I cooked four nights a week at home. I haven’t had a kitchen for over a year because I’m renovating, so I’ve literally been doing takeouts. I probably don’t cook at home four times a month, but I got in so it was a really cool experience!”

Max's girlfriend Maisie Smith is his biggest critic when it comes to his cooking. When Christine asked Max what she thought about his cooking, he replied with a laugh, “She’d say average, if she was honest. She’s harsh.”

Friday's quarter-final night saw the four contestants cut down to two: Marcus Brigstocke and Mica Ven made it through, while Love Island star Dani Dyer and Inbetweeners actor James Buckley were out of the competition.

Tonight, the remaining four contestants had to impress the judges with their culinary skills. Judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace had a big decision to make, and Love Island star Dani Dyer and Inbetweeners actor James Buckley were cut from the competition.

Dani said, “I definitely feel like I’ve walked in one person and come out another. It’s great, I’m happy. It’s been a really good time.” Unfortunately, James was “gutted” to be out of the competition.

Celebrity MasterChef returns at 9pm on BBC One. Tune in to see if Max George can impress the judges with his culinary skills!
