Matt Milburn regrets not being able to collaborate with his well-known brother on Coronation Street.
Matt Milburn, the talented actor known for his role in the popular ITV soap Coronation Street, recently made a comeback to the show as footballer Tommy Orpington. In a recent interview, Matt opened up about his wish to have had the opportunity to work with his real-life brother, soap star Greg Wood, earlier this year.

Having been a part of the show on and off for eight years, Matt is the brother of Greg, who portrayed the notorious cobbles gangster Rick Neelan. Rick's evil reign came to an end in 2019 when he was murdered by Gary Windass and his body was buried in the woods after a violent confrontation.

Matt returned to Weatherfield at the beginning of the year to reprise his role as Tommy Orpington, who is involved in a steamy storyline with Tracy McDonald. Matt expressed his love for working with his Corrie co-stars, but he couldn't help but wonder what it would have been like if Tommy and Rick had ever crossed paths on the cobbles.

Tracy and Tommy have now relocated to Spain, but Matt revealed that he would love to work with his brother on the show someday. "Yes, I think my brother is a fantastic actor," he said. "It's on my bucket list to work together at some point. Our paths have just never crossed, you know. We've both been a part of three major soaps and other projects, but we've never actually worked together. So, yes, it's a shame that Rick's not still alive. My brother actually told me about the Tommy Orpington character, so that was quite amusing. But yeah, I would have loved it, is the answer."

Matt also shared that his brother was a huge inspiration for him to pursue acting. "Greg was probably my biggest inspiration," he said. "I never really had a strong desire to get into acting. I was actually going to study sports journalism in university, but then my brother was cast in a play and I saw the adrenaline and excitement he had after coming off stage. I thought, 'I want to try that.' So, I kept bugging him about it and he eventually recommended me for a job that he couldn't do because he had just landed another one. I was terrible for the first two weeks, but it ignited a fire in me and for the first time in my life, I knew that this was what I wanted to do. Just four weeks after that, I got my first professional audition for Hollyoaks and ended up being there for three years. It was like my own personal drama school. But yeah, my brother was a big inspiration, probably the main one."

In recent weeks, Tracy has returned from her new life in Spain with Tommy, but things seem to be a bit rocky between them. Initially, the reason for her return was kept a secret, and whenever anyone mentioned Tommy, she would quickly change the subject. However, after a heated confrontation with her dad's carer Cassie Plummer, Tracy sat down with her estranged husband Steve for a heart-to-heart.

During their conversation, Tracy admitted that she feels lonely in their huge villa because Tommy spends all his time at work. When Steve asked her why she returned to Weatherfield, she revealed that she wanted her loved ones close by and needed some time away from Spain to think about her future. But when Cassie returned to No. 1, she found numerous unread texts and missed calls from Tommy on Tracy's phone. Is this the end for them?
