Man killed in dispute over toddy in Sakinaka, suspect arrested.
On Thursday afternoon, tragedy struck in the Sakinaka area when a 36-year-old man, Khurshid Salahuddin Sheikh, was killed in an altercation over toddy. According to reports, the victim had gone to the Jyoti Tadimadi Centre in Gandhinagar, Kazupada Pipeline, when his friend Sher Ali Chotu Ali Ahmed Sheikh, demanded ₹10 from him for the purchase of toddy.

When Khurshid refused, Sher Ali flew into a fit of rage, striking him in the stomach and head with a bottle of toddy. Khurshid was seriously injured and rushed to the nearby Rajawadi Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Following this, the Sakinaka police promptly arrived at the scene and registered a murder case against Sher Ali under section 302 of the IPC Act. The accused was apprehended soon after and presented before the Andheri court on Friday. The court then remanded him to police custody until September 17.

It is believed that the altercation arose due to Sher Ali's suspicion that Khurshid was having an affair with his wife. This suspicion further fueled Sher Ali's anger, leading to the tragic incident.

This incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of anger and violence. We must all strive to remain calm in the face of conflict and be mindful of our actions in order to prevent such unfortunate incidents from occurring in the future.
