Government promises no consequences for protesters in Bihar, Assam, and Rajasthan after late night discussions, says CJP.

In a recent development, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced that they will not allow any protester to face legal consequences alone. This comes after a late-night meeting with government representatives, where they received assurances of withdrawal of cases, release of detainees, and notifications from both the Centre and BJP/NDA-ruled states to safeguard the protesters. According to the CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das, the meeting lasted for nearly three hours and focused on ensuring legal protection for the demonstrators.

He also mentioned that the government representatives shared copies of notifications from Bihar and Assam, which guarantee withdrawal of FIRs, no future legal action, and release of all detainees and arrestees. Furthermore, Das stated that the government has promised to release guarantee-notifications from other BJP/NDA states by tomorrow, using the agreed upon language. This reassurance also covers the state of Rajasthan, where no legal action will be taken against the protesters.

However, the CJP expressed their concerns that these promises might not be fulfilled, leading them to seek written assurances. In response, the government shared a press release from the Bihar Home Department, stating their commitment to withdraw all FIRs against protesters and take no future action against them. The discussions also revolved around persuading other state governments to issue similar notifications, ensuring the safety of protesters across different states.

The government has guaranteed that these notifications addressing the CJP's concerns will be issued by tomorrow, providing the necessary legal protection to the demonstrators. Speaking on behalf of the party, Das reiterated their commitment to the protesters and assured that they will ensure no legal consequences are faced by those who participated in the demonstrations. He also mentioned that the CJP has been standing with the protesters since the beginning and will continue to do so.

In light of these developments, the CJP has called off their protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, which was initiated as a satirical campaign by Abhijeet Dipke and derived its name from an insult. The movement concluded over the weekend after the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union Education Minister, fulfilling one of the organization's principal demands. However, the CJP has warned that they are prepared to resume their protests if the assurances regarding legal protection for the demonstrators are not honored.
