M&S introduces new must-try chocolate bars, see our top picks.
We were curious about the new chocolate range at M&S, so we decided to put it to the test. As expected, Marks & Spencer did not disappoint with their latest launch. From their delicious summer dips to the highly anticipated return of Reversy Percy sweets, they have been hitting the mark with their products lately.

Their newest collection of confectionery has been a major hit with customers, despite the slightly higher price tags. The new range features some exciting additions, including brand new chocolate bars and a treat known as "The Big Daddy."

At £6.50, The Big Daddy is not cheap, but it is a thick bar made of milk and dark chocolate, filled with peanut butter, caramel, and roasted peanut pieces. Some have compared it to the viral Dubai chocolate bar filled with pistachios, but it's worth noting that it has its own unique twist.

TikTok users have gone wild over this massive bar, calling it "unreal" and "the best chocolate ever." Some even claim it's like Reese's Pieces, but "10 million times better." That's high praise indeed!

As for the new chocolate range, it is called "Marks Choc" and comes in six different flavors. There's your classic milk, white, and dark chocolate, as well as fully loaded bars like Caramel, Shortbread and Chocolate Crispies, Chocolate Candy Beans, Orange Jellies and Popping Candy, and Pretzels, Caramel Sea Salt and Almond Nougat.

After hearing that the range was described as "sensational," our team at The Agency just had to try it out for ourselves and see if it lived up to the hype. Here's what we thought:

The Big Daddy, £6.50
This chocolate bar is truly a beast in terms of size. Our assistant lifestyle editor, Jessica Lindsay, gave it a try and said, "The Big Daddy definitely lives up to its name. It's a massive bar and what struck me was that it didn't have the usual markings of a chocolate bar, so you either have to awkwardly break off a piece or just take a bite. But despite its lack of delicacy, it was incredibly tasty with a perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness from the nuts. It's definitely rich, so a small bit was enough to satisfy my cravings. If you want to treat yourself, this is the one to go for."

Our specialist food writer, Courtney Pochin, added, "It's a huge bar with a lot of filling. The peanut butter flavor is quite strong, so if you're not a fan, this may not be for you. It's like an oversized Reese's Cup in a slab format, so don't expect anything too luxurious. However, it's still delicious, and a little bit goes a long way. But at £6.50, I'm not convinced it's worth the price."

M&S Choc Range
We also tried three of the fully loaded chocolate bars from the range and couldn't help but notice how similar they were to Tony's Chocolonely bars. However, these had even more inclusions, with bits of pretzel, shortbread, and jelly sweets added in. Our deputy lifestyle editor, Kristina Beanland, was a bit disappointed with the appearance of the chocolate itself once unwrapped. She felt that all three bars resembled "cooking chocolate" and didn't have the glossy shine that tempered chocolate usually has. She said, "I wanted a bit more from these bars as they looked so chunky and packed with flavor, but they didn't quite live up to my expectations."

But did the rest of the team agree? Here's what they thought:

Caramel, Shortbread, and Chocolate Crispies, £3.50
Our community journalist, Jeremy Ullmann, was a big fan of this sweet chocolate bar that combines chocolate, caramel, shortbread, and crispies. He said, "It's a really pleasant eat. It has just the right amount of crumble, a nice mix of textures, and none of the flavors are too overpowering. They all complement each other perfectly. Plus, who doesn't love shortbread?"

Chocolate Candy Beans, Orange Jellies, and Popping Candy, £3.50
This bar is perfect for those who loved Cadbury's Marvellous Creations. Courtney thought this one was the most appetizing, as it is speckled with rainbow-colored candy beans. She said, "It's a very pretty bar and one that will please fans of Cadbury's Marvellous Creations. If you love that and are also a fan of Terry's Chocolate Orange, this may become your new favorite. The orange jellies give it a strong citrus flavor, which may overpower the other ingredients, but the chocolate candy beans and popping candy add a satisfying crunch and fizz. Overall, it's a fun bar to eat, and I would definitely buy it again. I think it's going to be a hit with M&S shoppers this summer."

Pretzels, Caramel Sea Salt and Almond Nougat, £3.50
This one received mixed reviews from our writers at Metro. Kristina felt that it only tasted like pretzels and didn't have enough salt. However, she did recommend trying M&S' new Swiss Caramel & Milk Chocolate Crispy Clouds, which she described as "little morsels of joy" for those who love chocolate and caramel. Courtney, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed this bar. She liked the crunch from the pretzels and the chewy nougat, and could taste the sea salt. She said, "This is my favorite out of the three. It has the most filling, with a perfect balance of crunch, saltiness, and sweetness. I love anything that combines chocolate and almond."

Ranking the new chocolate bars from M&S:

1. The Big Daddy
2. Chocolate Candy Beans, Orange Jellies, and Popping Candy
3. Caramel, Shortbread and Chocolate Crispies
4. Pretzels, Caramel Sea Salt and Almond Nougat

But the new chocolate range is not the only exciting addition at M&S. They also have a selection of Mocktail Gourmet Gummies in flavors like Peach Paloma, Pina Colada, and Raspberry Martini, Milk Chocolate Nutty Clouds, and a range of chocolate-coated fruits and nuts.
