Tomorrow marks a special day for the late rugby legend Doddie Weir, as Royal Mile Whiskies will be going on sale with a whisky selected by him to raise money for his My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Just a month before his death, Weir visited Ardnamurchan Distillery with friends, and it was a truly poignant experience for them.

Innis & Gunn have launched their 2023 iteration of their Islay whisky cask beer, which is made with Laphroaig. This year, the limited-edition beer was matured in second-fill bourbon casks that had held Laphroaig’s 10-year-old whisky for the first 10 weeks, and then three weeks in second-fill Port casks for an even more unique flavour.

Scotland’s oldest working distillery, The Glenturret, has sponsored racing driver Ross Wylie in this year’s Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain. His Porsche 911 has been decked out in the distillery’s black and white livery, and Wylie has developed a taste for the Scotch during lockdown.
