Kev's attempts to reconcile with Lewis backfires in a preview clip for Emmerdale.

As the days go by in Emmerdale, it seems that Kev Townsend is determined to do whatever it takes to prove to Lewis Barton that he can be a good father. Despite only recently returning to the village, Kev has already managed to stir up quite a bit of trouble. After helping to rescue Lewis from a woman named Kylie, Kev saw the aftermath of the traumatic experience as the perfect opportunity to reveal to Lewis that he is his biological father.

But Kev didn't simply sit down and have a calm conversation with Lewis about this life-changing news. Instead, he chose to express himself through song, belting out Boyzone's "Father and Son" in front of Lewis. He truly believed that this would be the ideal way to make a positive impact on his son's life.

However, Lewis has made it clear that he wants nothing to do with Kev. Before leaving the village to spend time with his adoptive father in Cleethorpes, Lewis even told Kev to be gone by the time he returns. Despite Lewis' wishes, Kev has no intention of leaving.

In fact, in a new video, we see Lewis return home and completely ignore Kev's attempts to get his attention. It's not until Kev refers to Lewis as "son" and makes a grand gesture with his bakery van that Lewis is forced to acknowledge him. And that's when he receives the shock of his life: Kev has officially changed his name to Kevin Barton.

Lewis is far from impressed and tells Kev to leave him alone. He's not quite sure why Kev would go through all this trouble without even explaining the reason behind it. However, later in the week, Kev finally opens up to Lewis and shares the tragic story of his past, including how he became a "wrong'un" and vowed to never go back to prison.

To Kev, changing Lewis' name is a way to protect him from his troubled background. But when Ross Barton shows up ready to fight Kev, Lewis surprises everyone by softening and expressing a desire to give his dad a chance. This emotional moment teaches Kev an important lesson: honest conversations are far more effective than grand gestures or surprises.

It's also worth noting that Kev has now moved back in with the Andersons, adding even more complexity to the situation. It's clear that this journey towards a father-son relationship is not going to be easy, but with open and honest communication, there may be hope for Kev and Lewis yet. What do you think about this unexpected turn of events?
