Joey Bada$$ launches program to help Black men gain knowledge, resources and support.
Joey Bada$$ is using his talents to become a beacon of support for Black men. On October 10th, the hip-hop artist announced his new mentorship program, which is aimed at providing guidance to future leaders with the help of industry trailblazers like himself.

The founder of the program, whose real name is Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, took to Instagram to share the philanthropic news. He stated that he had secured an ‘impressive network’ of mentors from a variety of fields to help the inaugural cohort.

“I’m excited to announce that I’ve been silently working on a free mentorship program for men of color in the US & Canada called @impactmentorship,” shared the actor and rapper. “I recruited an impressive network of incredible mentors in the areas of ART, CULINARY, FASHION, FILM/TV, MEDIA MUSIC, and SPORTS.”

Impact Mentorship offers mentees support and development for an entire year, with one hour of mentoring every month from experts in media, music, sports, and culinary arts. The program is geared towards men of color aged 18 and over, in order to provide access to professional opportunities. The main goal is to give these young men ‘a path to freedom’.

The platform’s mission statement reads, “We believe wholeheartedly that mentorship can help provide a path to professional and financial independence. In addition to career guidance, one of the most critical gifts the mentees receive is confidence.”

In an era where Black male mental health is in dire need of advocacy, Impact Mentorship is aiming to empower and inspire men to believe in their passions. Joey Bada$$ is the first of many high-profile mentors to be part of this groundbreaking program, with the hope of sparking change in their community.

Applications are accepted from October 15th to 29th, and the 28-year-old encourages people to submit as early as possible due to the high demand of potential mentees.

Through Impact Mentorship, Joey Bada$$ is working to build a bridge to success for Black men and provide them with access to the resources and support they need. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to benefit from mentorship and make a positive impact in their community.
