Greg Rutherford reports he's feeling better after being taken to the hospital for scratching his skin.
Greg Rutherford recently shared a health update after a scary trip to the hospital. On Saturday, the 36-year-old former Strictly Come Dancing star was screaming in pain and clawing at his skin before going into a delirious state. His fiancee Susie Verrill had to drive him to the hospital due to a 40-minute wait for an ambulance.

Susie took to Instagram to explain their terrifying ordeal, saying Greg had to be 'pumped full of steroids and antihistamines' before he was stabilized. A few days later Greg addressed the incident in an Instagram Story, thanking everyone for their messages of support.

"I'm much better today. I still have itches on my skin but nothing obviously like yesterday at all. All the rash has gone away now which is great," he said. "I went to see the doctor again today to get some stronger antihistamines just in case it happened again. So it's now just going to be a case of figuring out what it was and hopefully never happening again."

He went on to express his appreciation for everyone's kind words.

"I do really appreciate everyone that's reached out to me and to Susie," Greg added. "Hopefully it doesn't happen again because it was horrific, I wouldn't wish it upon anyone."

Susie had previously recounted the harrowing incident, saying she received a call from Greg begging for help. She ran every red light to get him to the hospital as quickly as possible. Thankfully, after being treated, he was back to his normal self soon after.

Greg is an Olympic champion who won gold in the long jump at London 2012. He also appeared on the 14th season of Strictly Come Dancing in 2016 and won the 14th season of Celebrity MasterChef in 2019.
