J. Cole has been devoting his attention to connecting with people, and recently made a visit to a New York City housing project to check out the music of an aspiring rapper, Trilly. Trilly shared a video of the occasion on Instagram and captioned it with, “Cole pulled up on me To hear my new sh*t, No Meetings in the city straight Raw block sh*t, Appreciate You @realcoleworld , It’s up From Here !!”

In the clip, Cole is seen nodding along to Trilly's verse, before offering some words of wisdom and encouragement. He tells Trilly that he doesn't need to add a second verse, and to just shoot the video, release it, and trust that it will land with the people it's intended to.

Cole recently dropped the single “On the Street”, and also provided executive production for the Creed III soundtrack. Speculation is that he's currently working on his upcoming project, which he started teasing back in 2019 with plans for an album trilogy titled The Off-Season, It’s A Boy, and The Fall Off.
