ISRO to launch 7 satellites from Sriharikota on July 30, all for Singapore.
India is all set to launch a satellite from Singapore on July 30. The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C56) will launch the DS-SAR satellite from the first launchpad of the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) Sriharikota spaceport at 6.30 am.

The DS-SAR satellite is developed under a partnership between Singapore's Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and ST Engineering. It will be used to support the satellite imagery requirements of different agencies within the Singaporean government. ST Engineering will also use it to provide multi-modal and higher responsiveness imagery and geospatial services to commercial customers.

The satellite is equipped with a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload developed by Israel Aerospace Industries. This allows the DS-SAR to capture images in all-weather conditions, day and night, at one metre resolution and full polarimetry.

The PSLV-C56 was procured by the NewSpace India Limited, a central public sector undertaking under the Department of Space. It will also carry six co-passenger satellites, including VELOX-AM, Atmospheric Coupling and Dynamics Explorer, SCOOB-II, NuLIoN by NuSpace, Galassia-2 and ORB-12 STRIDER. All these satellites are either technology demonstrators or enable seamless IoT connectivity in urban and remote locations.

The PSLV-C56 is configured in its core-alone mode, similar to that of C55. And for its role in the successful launch of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO and the Department of Telecommunications recently awarded ITI with accolades.
