Israel attacked Iran and killed seven important Iranian military leaders, including the Defence Minister and IRGC chief.

In a shocking announcement on Sunday, the Israel Defence Forces revealed that seven top-ranking Iranian military commanders, including Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh and the Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, were killed in precise airstrikes carried out across Iran. However, Iran has yet to officially confirm the deaths of these commanders as reported by Israel. The reported killings were part of a larger joint offensive by the United States and Israel that targeted Iran's military and strategic infrastructure. This event has caused a sharp increase in tensions across the Middle East. According to the IDF, the operation was carried out by the Israel Air Force after the Military Intelligence Directorate identified two separate locations in Tehran where high-ranking Iranian security officials were gathered. Among those allegedly killed was Ali Shamkhani, a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a prominent figure in Iran's defence establishment. The IDF also noted that Shamkhani had previously been targeted during last year's hostilities. Additionally, the Israeli military confirmed the death of Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The IDF accused Pakpour of leading a plan to destroy Israel and overseeing missile and drone operations aimed at Israeli targets. Israel also named other officials who were reportedly killed, including Salah Asadi, Mohammad Shirazi, Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, and senior figures associated with Iran's SPND weapons development body. The Israeli government claimed that these officials played key roles in missile production, coordinating with regional proxy groups, and advancing sophisticated weapons programs, including those related to nuclear development. "The world is a better place without them," the IDF stated. In a major turn of events, Iranian state media reported that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also killed in the US-Israel strikes. This marks a significant moment in the 46-year Shia-theocratic rule as Tehran's retaliation sparked conflicts in various parts of the Middle East. The repercussions of this incident are expected to be felt for a long time to come, with the region facing increased instability and uncertainty.
