Injuries continue to plague Manchester United as their squad for the Chelsea match is announced.

Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been on the sidelines due to a minor injury, but he is now in the running to make a comeback in their upcoming match against Chelsea. The team has traveled to London with Mainoo as part of their squad, but fellow midfielder Leny Yoro will not be joining them due to an injury. Mainoo was unable to play in their recent 2-1 loss to Leeds United, with manager Michael Carrick revealing that it was due to a small issue.

However, the 20-year-old is now in contention to return to the field on Saturday evening. Carrick mentioned in a press conference that Mainoo has been doing some light training and a decision will be made on his availability for the match. Meanwhile, defender Leny Yoro will be unavailable for the Chelsea game, adding to Carrick's selection headache in the backline.

Both Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez are suspended, while Matthijs de Ligt and Patrick Dorgu are still recovering from injuries. Ayden Heaven, who has only made four substitute appearances under Carrick, is likely to start for the first time since January 7. Carrick expressed his confidence in Heaven, stating that the young defender is in a good place and is progressing well in the early stages of his career.

The manager also mentioned that it is natural for a player of Heaven's age to have some games under his belt while sitting out others. Carrick has seen improvement in Heaven's training and believes he is ahead in terms of game experience for a centre-back of his age. The Manchester United squad for the Chelsea match also includes Shea Lacey and Tyler Fletcher, who were unused substitutes in their previous game against Leeds.

The team is currently sitting in third place in the Premier League, seven points ahead of sixth-place Chelsea who have lost their last three league games.
