Last week, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met with Pat Harrigan, a Member of the US House Armed Services Committee, who led a bipartisan US Congressional Delegation, in Singapore. The main topics of discussion during this meeting were regional security, expanding defence cooperation, and advancing shared strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific. The Ministry of Defence also shared a post on social media platform X, highlighting the success of this meeting.

According to the post, the interaction reaffirmed the strength of the India-US defence partnership and focused on various key areas such as regional security, expanding defence cooperation, and advancing shared strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific. In another significant development, US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi on May 24. The two leaders discussed a range of important matters, including defence, security, and strategic technology-related cooperation.

They also talked about the TRUST initiative, which is aimed at enhancing the cooperation between India and the US in the field of strategic technology. In a post on social media platform X, the Ministry of External Affairs shared the details of this meeting. According to the post, the two NSAs reiterated the high priority given to the bilateral Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues, further highlighting the strong relationship between the two countries.
