India and US hold talks in Hawaii to enhance defense cooperation between their armies.

The worldwide stage in Hawaii was set for the 29th edition of the Army-to-Army Staff Talks between India and the United States. During this meeting, both countries discussed ways to strengthen their bilateral defence cooperation while also reaffirming their commitment to further solidify their strategic partnership. The Indian Army reported that this important discussion was co-chaired by Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Deputy Chief of the Army Staff, and Lieutenant General Joel Vowell, Deputy Commanding General of US Army Pacific.

Taking to the social media platform X, the Indian Army shared the key takeaways from the meeting, stating that the talks were centered around enhancing interoperability, expanding professional exchanges, and deepening military collaboration in support of shared security interests. In addition to this, both sides acknowledged the growing scope of Army-to-Army engagements and expressed their unwavering dedication to strengthening the India-US strategic partnership. This was not the only recent interaction between the two nations.

Last week, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met with Pat Harrigan, a Member of the US House Armed Services Committee, who led a bipartisan US Congressional Delegation, in Singapore. The main topics of discussion during this meeting were regional security, expanding defence cooperation, and advancing shared strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific. The Ministry of Defence also shared a post on social media platform X, highlighting the success of this meeting.

According to the post, the interaction reaffirmed the strength of the India-US defence partnership and focused on various key areas such as regional security, expanding defence cooperation, and advancing shared strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific. In another significant development, US Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi on May 24. The two leaders discussed a range of important matters, including defence, security, and strategic technology-related cooperation.

They also talked about the TRUST initiative, which is aimed at enhancing the cooperation between India and the US in the field of strategic technology. In a post on social media platform X, the Ministry of External Affairs shared the details of this meeting. According to the post, the two NSAs reiterated the high priority given to the bilateral Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues, further highlighting the strong relationship between the two countries. It is clear that the India-US partnership is growing stronger with each passing day, and both nations are committed to working together for the greater good.
