Increased pressure for Super Speciality Hospital: Bike Rally from Kodava Riders Club

Madikeri; The Kodava Riders Club had organised a bike rally from Bangalore to Madikeri, demanding the establishment of super speciality hospital in the district. Senior Retired Police Officer Tiger Ashok Kumar and journalist Santosh Thamayya flagged off the rally at the Kodava samaja, Vasant nagar in Bangalore on Saturday. Riders of the club rode bikes from Bangalore and reached Madikeri via Mysore, Gonikoppa and Virajpet and then submitted the memorandum to Minister of Housing, MTB Nagaraj and the Deputy Commissioner, Ms. Anis Kanmani Joy. For the past several years the district patients are going to Mysore and Mangalore hospitals for medical facilites. An abhiyan has launched in social media for establishing super speciality hospital. The demand is getting louder, day by day and people are responding positively,  for it.

There are thousands of workers in the district, and millions of tourists visiting district. The workers are in a state of concern for wildlife attacks or any other hazards, when the necessary treatment is not available in the district. It is surprising that, Kodagu, with a population of about six lakh is lacking medical services. Kodava Raiders Club organizer, Ajjikuttheera Prithvi Subbaiah, Directors A Cheruwanda Darshan Kaverappa, Boljira Prithvi Poonacha, Mallengada Somanna and Thamanna, Kodava Army Team Chandanda Shami were present.
