Gwyneth's family to give evidence in court case involving ski accident.
Gwyneth Paltrow is present in court with her family in connection to the supposed ski crash in 2016.

The Iron Man starlet, 50, is accused of colliding with Dr Terry Sanderson at the Deer Valley Resort in Utah in February, 2016.

Dr Sanderson is demanding a payment of $300,000, asserting that the crash caused him ‘irreversible traumatic brain injury, four broken ribs, pain, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, emotional distress and disfigurement’.

Meanwhile, Paltrow has denied all allegations and is petitioning for $1 plus the coverage of her legal charges.

The trial started on Tuesday at Park City District Court, where Paltrow’s lawyer specified that the court would be hearing from her family, comprising of her spouse Brad Falchuk and her two kids, 18-year-old Apple and Moses, 16.

Stephen Owens stated in his opening arguments that Paltrow is a ‘cautious skier’, noting that the journey to Deer Valley was of a sentimental nature, following the passing of her father in 2002.

He also pointed out that Apple was 11 and Moses was 9 at the time of the incident, explaining that it was a special time for the family and a chance for them to bond.

Mr Owens continued to say that Paltrow, Brad, Apple, and Moses had all been skiing together when the alleged accident occurred.

He declared that Sanderson had come up ‘body to body’ with Paltrow, which left her feeling ‘freaked out’.

Lawrence Buhler, on the other hand, representing Sanderson, contended that Paltrow had acted in a ‘reckless’ manner on the slopes that day.

Sanderson's lawyer said Paltrow had acted 'recklessly'

Gwyneth Paltrow is in court to address an alleged ski crash in 2016 and her family will be joining her in the stand. The Iron Man star, 50, is accused of colliding with Dr Terry Sanderson at the Deer Valley Resort in Utah, with the retired optometrist, 76, seeking $300,000 in damages. Paltrow denies any wrongdoing and is asking for merely $1 and the covering of her legal fees. The case began on Tuesday at Park City District Court, and Paltrow's lawyer noted that her family, including husband Brad Falchuk and her two children Apple, 18, and Moses, 16, will be testifying. He also said the trip was a sentimental one, as it was their first outing as a family following the death of her father in 2002.

Brad Falchuk will also take the stand in the trial. Mr Owens said Paltrow was a 'conservative skier' and that she was skiing with her family when Dr Sanderson 'came up almost body to body'. On the other hand, Lawrence Buhler, representing Dr Sanderson, argued that Paltrow was 'reckless', as she was looking somewhere else while skiing down the mountain.
