GTA 5 roleplay mod now available in beta for players, in anticipation of the upcoming release of GTA 6.

GTA Online, the popular multiplayer mode of GTA 5, has been a hot spot for roleplaying enthusiasts for years. With the help of a mod called FiveM, players have been able to create unique experiences within the game, such as pretending to be cops and robbers. And now, it seems that Rockstar, the game's developer, is taking notice.

In fact, there are strong indications that the upcoming GTA 6 will have official support for roleplaying mods. Rockstar has announced plans to launch an updated roleplay server for GTA 5 next month, and it's highly likely that this support will extend to GTA 6 as well. This news has excited the roleplaying community, who have been eagerly waiting for this kind of recognition from the game's developers.

It all started in 2023, when Rockstar acquired the FiveM mod and decided to officially support it. Then, in 2025, they teamed up with NoPixel, one of the most popular GTA 5 roleplaying servers, to work on a major update called NoPixel 5. And now, almost a year later, the NoPixel team is ready to reveal their new update through a closed beta.

The closed beta will be available starting from September 8, but only select participants will be allowed in. However, the team has promised to gradually roll out more invites as the beta progresses. Interested players can also register on the NoPixel website, but it's important to note that this is only available for GTA Online on PC and requires the FiveM mod.

But that's not all. NoPixel has also teased a fancy trailer to be released on September 1, showcasing the new update. This update promises to bring new locations, vehicles, and a more in-depth city experience.

And don't worry, the current NoPixel servers will still be accessible for those who prefer them. The fact that this update will be available through Rockstar's own launcher is a strong indication of their commitment to supporting the roleplaying community. This also bodes well for the future of GTA 6, as it's highly likely that it will receive similar support.

However, this support won't be available at launch, as the game is currently only coming to consoles and there hasn't been any mention of GTA 6's online multiplayer mode yet. But, with rumors circulating about Rockstar wanting to monetize user-generated content in GTA 6's online mode, it's safe to say that roleplaying content will play a major role in the game's longevity. And who knows, maybe we'll even see mod support on the console versions.

As for when we can expect this support to be available in GTA 6, only time will tell. But, we do know that Rockstar will be sharing some news about the game very soon. In fact, an extended preview of the game is set to air on Netflix next week, which will hopefully include gameplay footage and more information about a PC port and/or GTA Online 2.

Exciting times are ahead for the GTA community, and it's safe to say that GTA 6 is already guaranteed to be a huge success. Want to stay updated on all things GTA? Be sure to sign up for our newsletter and follow us on Twitter.
