The little town of Somers, Connecticut, was rocked by tragedy this week when a devastating house fire claimed the lives of four children. The ages of the victims were five, six, eight, and twelve. This tragedy occurred around 10.20pm on Tuesday evening at a two-family home on Quality Avenue.
Chief John Roache of the Somers Fire Department reported that neighbors had attempted to put out the blaze using extinguishers, but ‘the volume of fire was just too great at that time’. When firefighters arrived at the duplex, they found it fully engulfed and had to break down the doors to access the building.
