Explosions went off near DC businesses in the early morning, causing damage.
Early this morning, three businesses in Washington DC were targeted in a series of explosive attacks. Between 4:30am and 4:45am, a number of devices including a Molotov cocktail were set off outside the premises.

The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that only commercial properties were targeted and there was no intention to harm members of the public.

The first incident occurred at the Truist Bank outside of which an explosive was detonated, causing damage to the area. Minutes later, the entrance of the Nike Store was set off and around 4:45am, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a Safeway supermarket.

Fortunately, none of the three premises were open at the time of the attacks and no injuries were reported.

The MPD is offering a reward of $20,000 for any information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the crimes. They have urged anyone with any video or photo evidence from any of the offense locations to call 727-9099 or text their tip to the Department’s Text Tip Line at 50411.
