Exec teams up with East European firm to bring Hollywood films to the area.
Marvin Peart and Bob Yari have teamed up to bring something special to Georgia. The two, along with their production company WonderHill Studios, have partnered with the Georgian government and Eastern European investment firm Silk Road Group to increase the number of Hollywood productions being filmed in the country.

The collaboration between WonderHill and Silk Road, known as JV WonderSilk Studios, will provide an easier path for Hollywood studios and independent film producers to access local sites, tax credits, personnel, and talent. Peart is enthusiastic about the venture, stating that he hopes it will bring the “greatest stories of the world from lesser-known countries to the silver-screens of America.”

The Chairman of Silk Road Group, George Ramishvili, believes the partnership will not only close the gap for Hollywood productions, but also foster greater understanding between the two cultures. He hopes it will bring “Georgian and American culture, history and the people even closer together.”

WonderHill Studios was founded in March of this year with a mission to fill a crucial hole within the theatrical and television space, while also focusing on inclusivity both in front of and behind the camera. Between them, Peart and Yari have produced over 50 films and TV shows.

The most recent American project to choose Georgia as its location was 2019’s F9: The Fast Saga, reported by Deadline. With the newly minted JV WonderSilk Studios, they are hoping to draw more productions to the country and create a bridge of understanding between Eastern European and American culture.
