Yusef Wiley has come a long way since his release from a California Correctional facility in 2012. After serving close to 22 years due to his past gang involvement in South Central LA, he was determined to make a change and started speaking at a variety of venues. His story resonated with many and requests to share his story started pouring in from local government meetings, colleges, and companies in Silicon Valley.
With the support of his family, friends, and faith community located in the San Francisco Bay Area, Yusef was able to secure a job as an African-American Studies School Teacher. In 2014, he followed his dream and prayer to serve his community full-time and founded the Timelist Group. This is now a successful multi-million dollar operation that works to help the very community Yusef once helped to destroy as a gang member.
Yusef is now giving back to his community through a range of programs, such as housing for reentry and unhoused individuals, and workforce programs which have enabled him to hire system-impacted people with a history of felony arrest. The Timelist Group now employs over 125 people from its predominately African-American community.
Yusef has also added to his business portfolio a Consultant Company, YW Consultants LLC, and a speaking platform called YW Speaks, LLC. He is a founder and CEO, personal life coach, trainer, facilitator, cross facilitator, collaborator and mentor.
