Warburtons has once again pulled off an amazing feat and landed an A-list Hollywood star, Samuel Jackson, to front their latest campaign. He's in great company, with previous ambassadors including George Clooney, Peter Kay, Sylvester Stallone, The Muppets, and even Robert De Niro in 2019.
The new advert shows the Pulp Fiction actor in the role of Jonathan Warburton, where he receives some negative feedback from a customer on social media. He took it in his stride and had a response ready for the customer - ‘I'm a good guy, family man, but sometimes Johnny Lovely Crumpets won't cut it. Sometimes you need Samuel L Jackson to play you in a commercial, because when I see this from “Steve” up in my socials it unleashes a furious anger in me.'
Enraged, we then see Samuel go on a rampage, breaking his laptop in half, kicking through doors, throwing Steve's parents' toast in the street and screaming in the middle of a field of wheat. He even has a set of portraits portraying the other members of his family through the generations, including his great-great-great mother wearing a baker's outfit.
Samuel himself said of starring in the campaign, ‘It was a pleasure to meet the man at the helm of Britain’s biggest family bakery. And what an honour to follow in the footsteps of Bolton alumni, George Clooney and Robert DeNiro. We had a lot of fun on set so I hope people enjoy the finished product - the ad and Toastie Loaf!’

The advert will go live on social media from Thursday September 19 and will air on UK TV from Friday September 22. It remains to be seen what fans think of Samuel’s advert, but Warburtons have had some great ambassadors in the past. Robert De Niro’s gangster Warburton divided the nation, while Rocky star Stallone played a ‘tough, uncompromising delivery driver’ and George Clooney attempted to pitch an idea to the bakery boss.
