Dorms at Clark Atlanta University flooded after a severe storm hit the city.
Severe flooding caused by a storm that dumped 2 inches of water in an hour left the students of Clark Atlanta University in a scramble. Students captured videos of the water flooding into the dorm buildings, which subsequently lost power. One of the videos taken by Ashley Clark showed the entire floor covered in water with a student's leg stuck in a door.

Fortunately, fellow dorm mates worked together to free the student's leg before the water could rise higher. Ashley Clark reported to 11Alive that it took a few minutes, but they managed to do it without help. The student's leg was bleeding and they had to carry her up the stairs to the hospital.

The flooding was so severe that the student studying in the library at the time had to leave with water already rushing over her shoes. She shared her shock to 11Alive saying, "It was scary. I looked out the window and seen the large flood, and more videos kept coming in of the cars floating."

The school responded by ensuring all affected students were relocated to new housing and said in a statement, "We will continue to assess the impact of the severe inclement weather." The university has work crews trying to make repairs and return the students to their dorms. Unfortunately, the roads surrounding the university are still covered in mud from the flooding and cars have been moved by the water.
