Sanjeev Saxena, who was lobbying for the Bhopal South ticket, commented, "I have an emotional bond with PCC president Kamal Nath. Furthermore, my brother Praveen Saxena has been appointed as DCC president. This is not a damage control measure as we were initially offered this post, but it was later retracted. I won't run for the election if it goes against the party line."
