Dionne Warwick fans were left disappointed after a concert scheduled for June 24 in Illinois was postponed due to a "medical incident" as reported by TMZ. An email was sent to ticket holders on June 15th informing them that the singer was having some issues with one of her legs and had decided to cancel the show at the Rivers Casino Des Plaines outside of Chicago.
However, hope is not lost as Warwick is hoping to reschedule the show for a later date. Her representative told People that it was a minor issue that has been fixed and she is now in good health. Warwick still has a number of other shows scheduled for August and September in Selbyville, Delaware; Gethsemane, Kentucky; Ojai, California; and Beverly Hills, California.
This minor setback has not stopped the legendary singer from pursuing other projects. She is currently working on an inspirational album and has collaborated with Dolly Parton on a song called, “Peace Like A River.” The song was written by the country icon and produced by Warwick’s son and manager. Parton admitted in an interview that she was honored to sing with one of her idols.
The collaboration was the first time that the two icons met in person and Warwick said it felt like they had known each other for years. She also praised Parton for being very grounded and business-minded while they were working on the song.
It's great to see Dionne Warwick still going strong despite a minor setback. Hopefully she will be able to reschedule her Illinois show and continue to inspire us with her music.
