I have to say, I was pretty impressed with the Zelda Nintendo Direct. Seeing Link run out onto Hyrule Field gave me major nostalgia vibes.

I remember being 17 years old and playing this game years ago. However, I do wish they hadn't shown that moment in the Direct. It's something I would have loved to experience for the first time while playing the game.

One thing I noticed is that Nintendo didn't show much of the game back in June, but now they've shown a lot more. Personally, I think they showed a bit too much, but regardless, the game looks fantastic and I will definitely be buying it on release. I also can't help but wonder why the amiibo won't be released until next year.

But overall, the timing of the release seems very strategic. With another highly anticipated game coming out the same month, this will give fans of both franchises a chance to play both without getting overwhelmed. I have to say, young Link's sulky face with a hint of attitude really caught my attention.

It's a great reminder of just how young he is at the start of his adventure. On a different note, I wish we could have gotten a glimpse of the theatrical release. But I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo plans to do a dedicated Direct for the film in the near future, just like they've done with the Mario movies.

Moving on, let's talk about the Ocarina Of Time footage. It definitely did not disappoint. It seems like the game will stay faithful to the original, with just a few added elements that won't take away from what made it such a great game in the first place.

Now, I know there are mixed opinions about remakes, but I personally wouldn't mind a 1:1 remake. Just like what they did with Star Fox, updating the graphics and smoothing out the edges would be enough for me.

If they're going to add a bunch of new mechanics, then I think it would be better to just make a new Zelda game. Otherwise, it wouldn't really feel like Ocarina Of Time to me. Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill 2 are often brought up as examples of successful remakes, but in my opinion, the Resident Evil 4 remake was essentially the same game with improved graphics and updated bosses.

Ocarina Of Time still holds up today, unlike the original Resident Evil which was pretty unplayable. I know not everyone will agree with me, but I have a feeling that a lot of people might be disappointed after watching the Zelda Direct. Personally, I was very happy with what I saw.

I didn't want to spoil too much for myself, so I skipped through some parts, but overall, I'm really looking forward to playing it. Christmas just got a whole lot more expensive for me after watching the Direct. The moment I saw Link enter a shop without a loading screen, I was sold.

The quality of life features like jumping, dashing, and camera control really caught my attention. I can't wait to play the game and explore familiar and new locations. And of course, I'll definitely be humming tunes into my Joy-Cons (who am I kidding, I'll probably end up buying the ocarina too).

But I do wish I hadn't watched the Direct because now I have to wait 14 days before GTA comes out. And that 40th anniversary console looks stunning, but I'm sure it will cost a pretty penny. Speaking of the Direct, I have to admit, the presentation was a bit dry.

But the trailer at the end really got me hyped up for the game. However, I have already played through several games this year and have a few more on my list, so it's going to be a busy gaming season for me. Well, that's it for now.

It was all about the highly anticipated remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The Wednesday letters page was buzzing with reactions from readers who couldn't wait to share their thoughts on the game. Games Inbox, our section for reader letters and opinions, was overflowing with comments on the Ocarina of Time remake.

Goldilocks paradox was one of the readers who enjoyed the Direct, but wished they hadn't shown too much of the game. They wanted to experience the iconic moment of Link running onto Hyrule Field for the first time while playing the game. Although Nintendo didn't show enough of the game in June, their recent Direct gave us a good look at the game.

Even with the extra footage, it looked fantastic and definitely a must-buy for many readers like Arteta26Legend. The timing of the release was also strategic, with another highly anticipated game coming out in the same month. This way, fans of both franchises can enjoy both games without getting overwhelmed.

One thing that caught the attention of many readers was young Link's sulky expression, which perfectly captured his young age and adventurous spirit. However, some readers were hoping for a glimpse of the theatrical release, but it's possible that Nintendo might dedicate a Direct solely for the film in the future. The Ocarina of Time footage certainly didn't disappoint, as it showed a faithful remake with some added elements that won't take away from what made the original game so great.

The GameCentral newsletter offers a unique take on the week in gaming, along with the latest reviews and more, delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. But not everyone was thrilled with the idea of added elements in the remake. Big boy bent was happy with a 1:1 remake, similar to what was done with Star Fox.

Adding new mechanics might make it feel like a whole new game, taking away from the nostalgic experience of playing the original Ocarina of Time. However, others like Simon were excited about the look of the remake and couldn't wait to play it. As for the Zelda Direct, it might have disappointed some readers who were hoping for a more exciting presentation.

But the trailer at the end definitely made up for it, getting readers like Rob Taylor, Attorney at Bird Law, even more excited for the game. However, with so many other games released this year, some readers were feeling overwhelmed with their gaming backlog. Despite the bumper crop of games, many readers couldn't resist adding the Ocarina of Time remake to their collection.

The quality of life features and the stunning graphics were enough to convince them to make the purchase. And let's not forget the added bonus of being able to play the ocarina with Joy-Cons! Looks like Nintendo knows how to pull us back in, even when we thought we were done.
