Dengue cases increasing in Sundargarh, Rourkela most affected.
In the district of Rourkela, a concerning issue has emerged - the spread of dengue fever. It has become a cause for alarm as the city of Rourkela has been hit the hardest, with 57 out of 64 cases being reported from there. This sudden surge in cases has caused panic among the citizens and has also raised concerns in the Health department.

The situation has become so severe that Sector-14 in the Rourkela Steel Township has been declared a hotspot for dengue. This is mainly due to the majority of cases being reported from this area. In response to this, the Rourkela Steel Plant has taken action by conducting a massive cleanliness drive in the area. It has also been reported that the government and RSP authorities have taken measures to ensure an adequate supply of medicine and testing kits to tackle the situation.

As of now, seven individuals who have been affected by dengue have been admitted to Rourkela General Hospital (RGH). According to Dr. Bhakta Mohan Swain, the Assistant District Public Health Officer at RGH, the majority of cases have been identified in the urban areas of Rourkela. He also mentioned that the hospital has made necessary arrangements to accommodate patients and is providing them with symptomatic treatment. Furthermore, he assured that they are closely monitoring the situation and have a team of dengue volunteers to assist them in their efforts.

In addition to RGH, beds have also been made available at Bonai and Sundargarh to cater to the needs of dengue patients. The Health department is taking all the necessary steps to contain the spread of this disease and is continuously keeping a close watch on the situation. Let us all join hands and support the authorities in their efforts to combat this outbreak of dengue in our district of Rourkela.
