Delta Community Credit Union is offering a grant program of $150,000 for non-profit organizations in Atlanta.

Delta Community Credit Union is giving Metro Atlanta nonprofit organizations a chance to receive a portion of $150,000 in grant funding. Their 2027 Philanthropic Fund Program is now accepting applications, with ten grants of $15,000 each up for grabs. These grants are available to eligible organizations that serve the region, as announced by the company.

Interested parties have until 5 p.m. EDT on August 31 to submit their applications. This year, the program has replaced its previous tiered funding model with larger and equal-sized grants.

The goal is to provide more support to nonprofits that serve families and young people in metro Atlanta. Hank Halter, President and CEO of Delta Community Credit Union, shared that the increased grant amounts aim to make a greater impact in the communities they serve. He stated, "These larger grants will not only continue to provide meaningful support to deserving organizations but also enable them to do even more.

As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we take pride in investing in local nonprofits that address the needs of metro Atlanta families and strengthen our communities." To be considered for the grants, applicants must be nonprofit organizations serving metro Atlanta. Their missions should align with improving household financial well-being and promoting the physical and financial health of children and young adults. All applications must be submitted through the organization's online grant portal before the deadline.

The Philanthropic Fund Program was established in 2013 and has already distributed approximately $1.4 million to over 260 nonprofit organizations, according to the company. Past recipients have utilized the funds for various initiatives, such as financial education, workforce development, youth programming, health services, and other community-based assistance throughout metro Atlanta. Delta Community Credit Union, which was founded in 1940, is the largest credit union in Georgia and currently serves more than 540,000 members.

Aside from their annual grant program, the credit union is dedicated to supporting local communities through financial education initiatives, scholarships, and partnerships with schools and civic organizations. In related news, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. has recently launched a digital credit program to help its members build credit and financial literacy.

This initiative aligns with Delta Community Credit Union's mission to improve household financial well-being and support the community's physical and financial health.
