Delhi Police has summoned CM Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar to join the investigation into the Swati Maliwal assault case.
The Delhi Police has taken action in the case of an alleged assault on Aam Aadmi Party MP Swati Maliwal, by serving a notice to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's Personal Secretary Bibhav Kumar. Sources reveal that Bibhav was requested to appear at the police station at 11 a.m. to assist with the investigation, however, he was not present at his residence at the time. The police have also been keeping track of his whereabouts.

Maliwal underwent a medical examination at AIIMS in New Delhi. On Thursday, the Delhi Police took her to the hospital for a health check-up and lodged an FIR (First Information Report) regarding the assault. According to sources, Maliwal's complaint states that she was waiting in the drawing room at the Chief Minister's residence when Bibhav Kumar entered and without any reason, physically attacked her by slapping and punching her in the abdomen.

In a statement recorded by the Delhi Police's Special Cell, Maliwal shared her harrowing experience. "I was in the drawing room when Bibhav came in and started verbally abusing me. Without any warning, he began hitting me repeatedly. I cried out, begging him to stop and let me go, but he continued to assault me while hurling insults in Hindi," said the AAP MP. She also mentioned that Bibhav threatened her, saying things like "dekh lenge, nipta denge" (we'll see, we'll take care of you). He struck her on the chest, face, stomach, and lower body. Maliwal informed him that she was menstruating and in severe pain, pleading for him to leave her alone. Eventually, she managed to escape and called the police for help.

The FIR has been filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter and are determined to bring justice to Maliwal.
