Paul Priestley, a 44-year-old with a criminal record spanning 29 years, has been issued a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) to restrict his activity. He was arrested after being caught on camera trying to pry open car doors in Sevenacres, Orton Brimbles, Kilbride, and Kelburn in Orton Northgate. He was found to be in possession of a lock knife and cannabis.

Priestley is now banned from touching or entering any unattended vehicle without the owner’s permission, and must observe a doorstep curfew from 11pm-6am each day until March 2027. PC Olivia Ciani, who investigated the incidents, commented that Priestley 'will chance his luck trying door handles of cars until he finds one that is open'.

This is similar to the case of Nicholas Brennan in Liverpool, whose two-year CBO restricts him from 'touching' or 'interfering' with any parking meters in the city.

The CBOs issued to both Priestley and Brennan are a positive step in deterring any future thefts. If you have any news tips to share, get in touch with our news team by emailing us at email.
