Bhubaneswar: It has been announced that the Odisha Congress will be standing in solidarity with the nationwide strike and shutdown on February 12th, as called for by 10 central trade unions. The Pradesh Congress Committee president, Bhakta Charan Das, shared this news and assured that the party will fully support this cause all across the state.
This strike call was initiated by the All India Trade Union Congress, and Das emphasized that the party will extend their complete support to this movement. He also expressed his disappointment towards the Centre for revoking various welfare measures and implementing labor policies that are detrimental to the interests of workers. In fact, the Congress has been actively protesting, organizing demonstrations, and even going on hunger strikes to raise awareness about these issues on a national level.
Furthermore, Das pointed out that the Odisha government has been extremely negligent in managing the supply of seeds, distribution of fertilizers, and procurement of paddy. As a result, the farmers in the state have been facing immense difficulties. He firmly stated that the PCC has directed all district units to ensure that party leaders and workers, right down to the grassroots level, show their support for the strike in Odisha.
The Odisha POST, the state's leading English daily, has reported on this development. It is evident that the Congress stands united in their fight against the unjust policies and decisions that are affecting the lives of workers and farmers. Let us join hands and make our voices heard as we stand up for what is right and just.
