In Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi proudly declared that since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came into power, the state has experienced an exciting "industrial revolution." This has resulted in an influx of investments amounting to a staggering Rs 17 lakh crore.
Majhi was speaking at the 'Samruddha Odisha-2036' conclave, an event organized by the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ltd. He emphasized that Odisha is blessed with abundant natural resources and all the necessary elements to support the establishment of industries. However, he acknowledged that the state had not made much progress in terms of industrial and infrastructure development in the past 80 years.
The Chief Minister noted that despite electing a stable government under the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for 24 years, the state had not witnessed any significant industrial revolution. He attributed this to a lack of foresight and political willpower. Majhi expressed disappointment and described it as a betrayal to the state.
However, since coming into power, the BJP government has brought about a remarkable change. Majhi proudly announced that the state has witnessed a major industrial revolution. The government has successfully organized 'Utkarsh Odisha' and investor road shows in Singapore and various locations in India. These efforts have resulted in the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth a whopping Rs 17 lakh crore.
Furthermore, Majhi informed that the government has approved over 260 projects worth Rs 5.60 lakh crore, creating employment opportunities for 3.6 lakh people. Additionally, 84 industries with an investment of Rs 2 lakh crore have already laid their foundation stones, with the potential to provide employment for 1.64 lakh individuals.
In an effort to improve the ease of doing business in the state, Majhi revealed that the government has reformed 18 out of 23 categories. This will undoubtedly make it more convenient for investors and businesses to operate in Odisha.
Overall, the Chief Minister expressed great pride in the industrial revolution that has taken place in Odisha since the BJP came into power. He believes that with the continued support and efforts of the government, the state will continue to thrive and become a hub for industrial and economic development. This, in turn, will bring prosperity and opportunities for the people of Odisha.
