CBI continues to question former RG Kar hospital principal in doctor rape-murder case for third day in a row.
CBI officials have requested the presence of former principal, Sandip Ghosh, for the third consecutive day in connection with their investigation into the tragic rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical and College and Hospital. According to sources, Ghosh was previously questioned for a grueling 13 hours on Saturday, extending into the late hours of Sunday. He has been summoned once again this morning as the CBI team has more inquiries to make.

An officer from the investigating agency stated, "The former principal has been asked to appear at 11 am today. We have a list of questions prepared for him." Among the questions, Ghosh will be asked to clarify his actions upon receiving the news of the doctor's death, why he kept the victim's parents waiting for almost three hours, and his involvement in the renovation of the rooms near the seminar hall at the emergency building of the hospital after the incident.

"We are trying to determine if there was any conspiracy or pre-planning behind this heinous crime. We want to understand Ghosh's role and whether he had any involvement in the incident," the officer explained. The CBI team will also cross-check Ghosh's statements with those of other doctors and interns who were on duty with the victim at the chest medicine department on the night of the incident.

So far, the CBI has interviewed over 20 individuals, including a couple of officers from the Kolkata Police, as part of their investigation. Ghosh, on the other hand, refused to speak to the media as he left the CBI office at the CGO Complex in Salt Lake after midnight on Sunday. The officers had previously questioned Ghosh on Friday and then for another 13 hours on Saturday.

For the unversed, Ghosh resigned from his position as principal just two days after the woman's body was discovered on August 9. In addition, he expressed concerns about his safety and requested protection from the Calcutta High Court, which directed him to approach a single bench. The victim, a post-graduate trainee doctor, was found dead in a seminar room at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9. The following day, a civic volunteer was arrested in connection with the crime.
