CBI officials have requested the presence of former principal, Sandip Ghosh, for the third consecutive day in connection with their investigation into the tragic rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical and College and Hospital. The officers had previously questioned Ghosh on Friday and then for another 13 hours on Saturday.
For the unversed, Ghosh resigned from his position as principal just two days after the woman's body was discovered on August 9. In addition, he expressed concerns about his safety and requested protection from the Calcutta High Court, which directed him to approach a single bench. The victim, a post-graduate trainee doctor, was found dead in a seminar room at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9. The following day, a civic volunteer was arrested in connection with the crime.
