Unfortunately, Caoimhin Kelleher won't be playing for Brentford in their match against Burnley today. The talented goalkeeper has been left out of the squad for this crucial Premier League game.
After suffering a 2-0 defeat to Brighton last weekend, Brentford is determined to bounce back and keep their hopes of European football alive. They currently sit in seventh place and are looking to close the gap between themselves and fifth-place Chelsea to just two points with a win against relegation-threatened Burnley at Turf Moor.
However, just before kick-off, the Bees received a major blow as Kelleher was not included in the squad traveling up north to face Scott Parker's side. Kelleher, who has been an integral part of the team since joining from Liverpool last summer, will not be able to play due to personal reasons. His partner has given birth, and we wish them all the best.
Before the game, Brentford's coach Keith Andrews shared this news, saying, "Caoimhin's partner had a baby. We are delighted for them, and we wish them well. Unfortunately, he couldn't play today."
In Kelleher's absence, Hakon Valdimarsson will make his first start of the season. Brentford has also made four other changes to their starting lineup, with Michael Kayode returning from injury to replace Aaron Hickey at right-back. Mikkel Damsgaard, Yehor Yarmoliuk, and Kevin Schade also come into the team, replacing Jordan Henderson, Keane Lewis-Potter, and Vitaly Janelt.
On the other hand, Burnley has made three changes from their impressive 1-1 draw with Chelsea last weekend. Marcus Edwards is out with an injury, and Jacob Bruun Larsen will be replacing him. Lucas Pires and James Ward-Prowse have also been included in the starting lineup, while Lesley Ugochukwu and Kyle Walker have been benched.
Burnley is currently in a tough spot, sitting in 19th place and eight points away from safety. This game is crucial for both teams, and we can expect an intense match between them.
