Black entrepreneurs get resources to help them succeed at the ‘Power Networking Conference’.
The Power Networking Conference is here to celebrate Black Business Month and to provide Black entrepreneurs with the necessary resources to thrive. At the press conference held at Hilton Americas, Dr. George Fraser discussed the significance of celebrating Black entrepreneurship. He pointed out the systemic racism and inequities that prevent the accumulation of generational wealth, and the unfairness of the banking system for Black people.

“The most important thing that we must do in the 21st century is to learn, earn, and return. We have a lot of us learning and a lot of us earning. But not enough of us returning,” Fraser said. He also noted the lack of awareness of Black business giants and superstars among students at historically Black colleges and universities. In order to create an aspirational goal for business excellence, Fraser announced the launch of the Black Business Legacy Hall of Fame Museum and Metaverse.

Jevon Wooden, business coach, strategy consultant, and CEO of BrightMind Consulting Group, is focusing his efforts on increasing the amount of Black-owned businesses. He served in the U.S. Army for 12 years before founding his own business and understands the challenges faced by many first-generation entrepreneurs. Jevon is devoted to closing the racial gap in business and sharing his story of overcoming certain obstacles to help others.

“We do a lot of pro bono work for organizations or Black businesses looking to grow and scale. We’ll work with them for free until they get up to a certain revenue dollar amount … Many of us are first generation, and figuring it out is the hardest thing. When you’re the first, you don’t know who to go to …” Wooden said.

The virtual location of the Black Business Legacy Hall of Fame Museum and Metaverse will be available soon, with the physical opening of the museum scheduled for 2030 in Atlanta. The Power Networking Conference is a great opportunity for Black entrepreneurs to access the resources they need to succeed. With events such as the 4th Annual Virginia Black Business Expo & Business Conference, Black entrepreneurs are being further empowered to reach their potential.
