BBC star Reverend Richard Coles has had some strong words for the BBC's adaptation of Agatha Christie's classic, Murder Is Easy. The national broadcaster recently launched the series, which is based on Christie's 1939 novel of the same name.

Coles said: ‘I think that was the worst Christmas telly I’ve ever seen, and I saw David Bowie on Bing Crosby’s Merrie Old Christmas.' When questioned further, he elaborated that he was looking for a programme that is ‘worthy of the name’ – an Agatha Christie piece with a proper scary ghost story that is funny and entertaining.
The reverend was not alone in his critique of the series, with many others taking to social media to share their thoughts. Viewers said the show was ‘rubbish’ and ‘not very good’, with others saying there was ‘something missing’. One person even went so far as to say ‘murder may actually be easier than sitting through this’.
