Hi there! Are you still playing video games? I was just reading the Friday letters page and they were talking about being cautious with the summer showcases.
One reader even admitted that they don't care about PS5 exclusives. It was all very interesting. Have you heard of the Games Inbox?
It's a collection of letters, comments, and opinions from other readers. If you want to join in on the discussions, you can email them at the email address provided. Anyway, the reason I brought this up is because I saw that there's going to be another price hike for PS Plus.
I've reached my limit with the constant increases and I refuse to pay for it anymore. Even on the Essential plan, it's just not worth it. I might join for a month when a new multiplayer game comes out, but honestly, I think I'll be fine without it.
There are plenty of free games like Fortnite to keep me entertained. It's just frustrating that we have to pay for online services on consoles when we don't have to on PC. And it's not like there are any extra benefits that make it worthwhile.
I understand that Sony needs to make money, but as a consumer, I don't want to keep supporting a billion dollar company. So, I've decided to cancel my PS Plus subscription. I'll be giving them even less money now, which I'm sure is the opposite of what they were hoping for.
I wonder if anyone else is doing the same thing. On a different note, have you been following the rumors about GTA 6? I saw that the Take-Two boss said that the "next few weeks" don't count as summer.
Technically, that's not true because June is definitely part of summer. But it seems to support the rumor that we won't be hearing anything until late summer, possibly July or August. Speaking of gaming news, have you signed up for the GameCentral newsletter?
They offer expert analysis and exclusive content every Saturday morning. It's definitely worth checking out. It's interesting how almost no GTA 6 rumors have turned out to be true.
I mean, we know it's set in Vice City and there will be two main characters, but other than that, there's not much solid information. Not even the price or release date. It's almost like Rockstar is purposely keeping everything under wraps.
Now, let's talk about Bubsy. I find it hilarious that even with a decent developer working on the game, it still turned out to be terrible. I mean, Demon Tides was great, so you'd think Bubsy would have a chance.
But no, it only got a 61 on Metacritic. It's like the series is cursed. I wonder how it all started.
Have you heard about the recent re-releases of Dino Crisis? Apparently, it has now sold more than Ōkami, which is important because Ōkami is getting a sequel and Dino Crisis is not. I don't understand why Capcom keeps ignoring it.
I hope they have big plans for it because I've been waiting for a full remake for years. Do you think we'll hear anything about the new multiformat game from FromSoftware next month? It's possible that Nintendo will try to keep them from talking about it during their event, but who knows.
I'm starting to feel From withdrawal symptoms. It's been a while since we've had a decent clone too. With the summer showcases coming up, I think we should manage our expectations and not get too excited.
There's a good chance that it will be disappointing, but if we go in with that mindset, we might be pleasantly surprised by a few announcements. As for pre-ordering GTA 6, I don't really see the point. It's not like digital copies will run out.
I understand wanting to get it day one, but I see no reason to pre-order it. Just my opinion though. Well, that's all for now.
Let me know your thoughts on all of this. Oh, and if you have any silly questions, feel free to ask. I won't judge.
Hey there! Are you still sticking with it? I was just reading the letters page and they were talking about being cautious when it comes to the summer showcases.
It seems like everyone is excited about the upcoming releases, but one reader admitted that they don't really care about PS5 exclusives. It got me thinking about my own gaming preferences. I always enjoy reading the Games Inbox, where our readers share their thoughts and opinions.
It's always interesting to see different perspectives and join in on the discussions. If you want to be a part of it, you can email us at the address listed below. Speaking of gaming, I recently saw the news about another price increase for PS Plus.
I have to admit, I've reached my limit with these constant hikes. I can't justify paying for it anymore, even on the Essential plan. And if that means I won't have access to multiplayer, then so be it.
Maybe I'll subscribe for just one month when a new multiplayer game comes out, but with free games like Fortnite available, I think I'll manage just fine. Honestly, I think it's a bit of a disgrace that we're expected to pay for online play in the first place. On PC, it's not necessary, so why is it on consoles?
And there aren't even any extra benefits that make it worth the cost. I understand that Sony has to make a profit, but as a consumer, I don't want to support a company that constantly raises prices. So, I've decided to cancel my PS Plus subscription and give them less of my hard-earned money.
I wonder if anyone else feels the same way. On a different note, for those of you eagerly waiting for GTA 6, don't worry about pre-ordering just yet. The Take-Two boss recently mentioned that the "next few weeks" don't count as summer.
I know, technically June is considered summer, but I think this just confirms the rumors that we won't see anything until late summer, possibly July or August. By the way, have you signed up for the GameCentral newsletter? It's a great way to stay updated on the latest gaming news, reviews, and more.
It's delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. It's interesting how there have been so many leaks and rumors surrounding GTA 6, yet none of them seem to be true. Besides knowing that it'll be set in Vice City and have two main characters, there hasn't been much solid information about the game.
Even details like pricing and release dates have been scarce. Kudos to Rockstar for keeping it under wraps, I guess. Switching gears, I find it quite amusing that even with a decent developer working on it, Bubsy still can't catch a break.
I really enjoyed Demon Tides, so I had high hopes for the series. But with a disappointing 61 on Metacritic, it seems like the curse of Bubsy lives on. I wonder how the curse started in the first place?
It's like Sonic, but taken to the extreme. Moving on, let's talk about Dino Crisis. I'm a huge fan of the franchise and I was excited to hear about the recent re-releases.
But it's disheartening to know that it has surpassed Ōkami in lifetime franchise sales. Especially since Ōkami is getting a sequel, but Dino Crisis is not. I can't understand why Capcom continues to ignore such a beloved game.
I really hope they have something big planned for it because I've been waiting for a full remake for years now. As we approach the summer showcases, I can't help but feel a twinge of disappointment. I know we're all hoping for some exciting announcements, but let's be realistic and prepare ourselves for potential letdowns.
Take Nintendo, for example. I wouldn't be surprised if they only reveal a few minor things, like the rumored Zelda remake and a Devil May Cry 5 port. And as for Xbox, they'll probably go on and on about how beloved they are, even though they're the richest company in the world and still have trouble with their games.
And then there's Sony. I have mixed feelings about what they might reveal. On one hand, they could stick to their usual minimum effort approach.
But on the other hand, with all the recent talk about single-player games, maybe they'll go back to how things were on the PlayStation 4. But that might just be wishful thinking on my part. As a fan, I want to believe that will happen, but I'm not holding my breath.
Lastly, I have a question for those who pre-order games. Why do you do it? I understand the excitement and anticipation for a highly anticipated game like GTA 6, but do you really think they'll run out of digital copies?
I'll probably get it on release day too, but I see no reason to pre-order. Just my two cents. Well, that's all from me for now.
