Recently, there was exciting news from Bhubaneswar as the students of the first batch of the Facility Technology Vertical Transportation program at World Skill Centre achieved a 100% placement rate. This achievement was made possible through the campus recruitment drive where many national and international companies came to hire these skilled individuals. It's worth mentioning that the students from World Skill Center in Bhubaneswar have consistently shown remarkable success in securing jobs with top organizations through such recruitment drives.
Out of the 81 students who got job offers, 15 were girls and 66 were boys. These graduates landed jobs at well-known multinational companies like Johnson Lifts Private Ltd and Schindler Holding Ltd. In light of this success, the students expressed their gratitude towards the state government and WSC for their support throughout the process. One of the students, Rajesh Kumar Sethi from Keonjhar, shared his excitement saying, "I enrolled in the WSC course with the aim of becoming a skilled lift technician. I am thrilled to have secured a job at Johnson Lifts Private Ltd. My family and I are overjoyed with this accomplishment."
Another trainee, Padmabati Hansdah, also shared her journey and said, "I never imagined becoming an elevator technician, but the Vertical Transportation course at WSC made my dream come true. With access to top-notch equipment, I have gained expertise in the field and have learned the intricacies of working in a corporate setting." The CEO of Odisha Skill Development Authority, Rashmita Panda, congratulated the successful students and wished them all the best for their future careers. WSC, which is under the OSDA and Skill Development and Technical Education Department, offers a range of specialized courses under its 'School of Engineering' and 'School of Services' departments.
One noteworthy addition to the curriculum is the 1-year 'Vertical Transportation' course that focuses on training individuals in the installation, maintenance, and repair of lifts, escalators, and travelators. With the increasing reliance on modern infrastructure, the demand for skilled technicians in this field has also risen. WSC has recognized this need and has taken the initiative to provide specialized training to aspiring individuals. It's a commendable effort by WSC to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of skilled workers in this sector.
The success of the students from the inaugural batch of the Facility Technology Vertical Transportation program at WSC is a testament to the quality of education and training provided by the institution. With such positive outcomes, we can expect to see more students enrolling in these courses and securing exciting job opportunities in the future. Congratulations to the students and WSC for this remarkable achievement!
