Actress Jennifer Garner discusses her stance on cosmetic surgery and the one promise she can't keep for her kids.

During a recent episode of Kylie Kelce's Not Gonna Lie podcast, actress Jennifer Garner opened up about the often taboo topic of cosmetic surgery and why she can't completely rule out the possibility of getting a facelift in the future. At 53 years old, Garner is no stranger to the pressures of Hollywood and has three children with her ex-husband Ben Affleck: Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 14. And it seems that the opinion of her children plays a significant role in her decision-making when it comes to her appearance. Garner didn't shy away from admitting that she has tried Botox and other cosmetic treatments, but she also shared that the results were not always what she had hoped for. "Of course, I've tried Botox and all that, but it takes very little to completely freeze my forehead," she explained. "And then I just feel so conspicuous, like I've got a walking billboard." While she acknowledges that these treatments are common in the entertainment industry, she also expressed discomfort with the loss of facial expressions. The topic of cosmetic surgery has also been a source of discussion at home with her children. "My kids are like, 'Mom, promise us you'll never get a facelift.' And I say, 'I am unlikely to rush toward a facelift,'" Garner shared. However, she also admitted that she can't make a promise about the future. "And yet I refuse to make that promise because I am me today, and I don't know how I'm gonna feel tomorrow," she explained. Instead of seeking a permanent fix, Garner opts for smaller changes when she feels the need. "So sometimes I get bangs," she revealed with a laugh. While she has not had any surgery, Garner did make it clear that she does consult with professionals. "So don't think that I don't have something in there because I haven't done surgery. I haven't, I would tell you if I had," she said. "I haven't done any of that stuff." She also joked about her annual visit to a specialist, saying, "Once a year, I go see someone, and I'm like, I'm a pin cushion. I can't really tell the difference after because that's what I've noticed: the more you spend on a dermatologist doing a bunch of things to your face, the less you can tell that they've done it. And somehow, that's a good thing. I don't know why. But I will go pay them so much money to say, 'I don't want to see it.'" For Garner, subtlety is key when it comes to her appearance, rather than making any drastic changes like some other Hollywood actors. "I also think that anyone who wants to do whatever they wanna do, they look beautiful. They all look beautiful," she shared, emphasizing that her choices are entirely personal. Her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, has also recently spoken about their family and the effects of their public life. In an interview with E! News, he opened up about the pressures his children may face because of their parents' fame. "You put something on your children when you have a public life and that's complicated," he said. "We really want to give them room to figure out what they want to do." Affleck added that he would never push his children into acting and hopes that they don't "waste their life" in the industry.
