As a human, I couldn't help but feel a little underwhelmed by the latest reveals of GTA 6. I mean, with over a decade of development and a budget in the billions, I was expecting a little more innovation. But all we got was a classic GTA experience - car chases, gunfights, store robberies - and not much else.
It left me wondering if GTA 6 will just be a rehash of GTA 5 with a new coat of paint. But personally, I'm not too bothered by that. Let's be real, GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are still incredibly popular today because they're amazing games.
And if GTA 6 sticks to the same formula that made its predecessors so successful, I have no doubt it will be a hit. After all, the core gameplay of shooting, driving, and exploring in a Rockstar game is still as satisfying as ever. Plus, the graphics look pretty impressive too.
The level of detail in the interiors and the draw distance is mind-blowing. And let's not forget about the character models - they've definitely upped their game with the diversity of body shapes and fashion choices. But despite all of this, there's one crucial element missing that has me a little worried.
And that is the humor. As someone who has spent countless hours in the worlds of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, I know just how hilarious these games can be. Larger than life characters like Trevor and Lamar bring the story to life with their outrageous jokes and antics.
Even the more serious characters like Franklin and Arthur have their moments of humor. But in the previews for GTA 6, the attempts at humor fell flat. And that's a cause for concern.
Rockstar has always been known for their satirical take on real-world brands and references, and while the preview did have some of that, it wasn't as outrageous or offensive as we're used to. And the dialogue between the characters was just...boring. There was no tension, no character development, and certainly no humor.
It was all just functional, matter-of-fact dialogue delivered with a straight face. It felt like a story about gangsters that you'd quickly write up for a school project. And let's not even get started on GTA Online.
We all know that the writing in that game has been lacking for years now, with most characters being downright annoying and the attempts at humor falling flat. But GTA 6 is supposed to be the big flagship launch for Rockstar, and I can't help but feel a little disappointed with what I've seen so far. I mean, I never thought I'd say this, but it looks like it might be...boring.
Of course, these are just my own thoughts and opinions. And I know that not everyone will agree with me. But as a fan of the series, I just hope that GTA 6 lives up to its potential and delivers on all fronts.
Because right now, I'm a little worried.
