A musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, comes to life at the Edinburgh Playhouse.
A presentation of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical is headed to Edinburgh Playhouse this month. This devilishly delightful tale follows young Charlie Bucket and the mysterious confectionary magician, Willy Wonka. From Wednesday 29 March to Saturday 15 April 2023, theatregoers will have a chance to witness the show. By obtaining a golden ticket, Charlie has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sample all the delectable delights the factory has to offer. However, beyond the gates lies unexpected surprises. Songs from the classic 1970s movie, such as 'The Candy Man' and 'Pure Imagination', along with new tunes, will fill the auditorium with

pure imagination. The musical is adapted from Dahl's novel and the Warner Bros. film, featuring a book by David Greig, music by Mark Shaiman, and lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Wittman. James Brining directs, with set design by Simon Higlett. Gareth Snook will be playing the role of Willy Wonka in the UK and Ireland tour. His past roles include Monsieur André in The Phantom of the Opera, Les Misérables at the Palace Theatre, Sunset Boulevard and Made in Dagenham, both at the Adelphi Theatre, Aspects of Love at the Prince of Wales Theatre, and many more.
