Susanta, in a drunken state, insulted Ranjan and asked him to massage his legs. This infuriated Ranjan, and in a fit of rage, he grabbed an iron rod and mercilessly beat Susanta, causing his death. Ranjan then fled the scene to avoid getting caught by the police.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that Ranjan was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. The police were able to apprehend him with the help of a tip-off and arrested him from Gohria Square. Further investigations showed that Ranjan had a history of violent behavior, as he had previously assaulted his own father over a personal matter.
