A famous TV actor from the 90s is content with retiring from acting after leaving their iconic role.
Next on the agenda, beloved Neighbours actor Ryan Moloney has shared his thoughts on potentially retiring from acting following his upcoming departure from the show. In a heartfelt video released in June, the talented performer, known for his iconic role as Toadie Rebecchi, revealed that after 30 years, he will be leaving the iconic Ramsay Street. While he couldn't disclose any details about his character's exit, he did tease the possibility of becoming the next Jim Robinson or the next Harold Bishop, two beloved characters who have made brief returns to the show over the years.

After facing a mental health crisis and struggling with the memories of his numerous marriages, Toadie will bid farewell to the soap next month. But fans need not worry, as Ryan will still be a part of the Neighbours family. In the real world, he will be embarking on a UK nationwide tour in September, aptly titled "Toad on the Road." This exciting 20-date tour will take him all across the country, and he couldn't be more thrilled about it.

It's no secret that Toadie has been dealing with some difficult flashbacks lately. And in a way, Ryan has also grown up on the show, having joined the cast at the young age of fifteen. In anticipation of his tour, he sat down with the hosts of Good Morning Britain to discuss his reasons for leaving. "I'm pretty excited about the next adventures," he shared with Richard Madeley and Charlotte Hawkins. "I've had a wonderful time on Neighbours and have learned so much. Now I'm looking forward to seeing what else life has in store for me."

But don't worry, Neighbours fans, as Ryan will still be involved with the show behind-the-scenes as a director. This new role has reignited his passion for the industry, and he's excited to see where it takes him. "Directing has really sparked something in me, so hopefully that will continue," he explained.

Reflecting on his time on the show, Ryan shared, "Neighbours has been my life. I started when I was 15, and I've grown up on the show. Personally, I've gotten married, had kids, built farms, and learned so much. It's truly been a big part of my life. I've spent more time on Neighbours than off of it."

As for his future plans, Ryan is open to whatever comes his way. "I'm keeping my options open. I'm not particularly attached to continuing acting. I've been in the industry for over 30 years now, and if that continues, then fantastic." But he also mentioned his happiness at being able to work on his farm and spend time with his family, adding that if he never gets employed again, he'll be content with that too.

Ryan also shared his excitement for spending more time on his beloved farm, which he has redeveloped on 10 acres of farmland in Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. "If I never get employed again and I get to do that, then happy days!" he exclaimed.
